Choosing an All-Inclusive Heritage Resort

Look for off season deals

You won’t get great deals during holidays. It is a known fact that prices are quite high during peak seasons. You may get up to 50 percent discount during off season.

Book as early as possible

It is better to book all-inclusive heritage resorts as early as possible. There are people who book resorts almost a year in advance. They look at the rates and book during the sale season, wasting no time.

Read the agreement thoroughly

Look for extra charges as well as hidden charges. And to get to know all these details, you must read the fine print thoroughly. You must be aware whether they are charging extra rates for telephone and internet. See whether alcohol is included as part of the package. If you do not want to laze around, instead would like to engage in activities like salsa, pottery making or visit heritage sites, you must check whether the resort is providing these classes or trips free of cost.

Service and quality

An all-inclusive resort should be booked based on good service and quality. They might be offering great deals, but if their service is not good then you won’t be able to enjoy your vacation. If it is a family vacation, you must check whether the resort is offering activities for people of all ages. Also check the occupancy rules. If there are young children, you might even need child care. All-inclusive heritage resorts are value-friendly options for travellers. If you are too choosy when it comes to food, then it is better to purchase la carte vacation options. Take all these factors into consideration.

Do your research

To get all-inclusive heritage resort deals, you must do a little bit of research online. There are websites that offer discounted packages. Most of these sites have guest reviews. Read them. This will make your job all the more easy.

Chelsea Tower Hotel Apartments

Check- in process was fairly simple and quick. Diana the receptionist was understanding enough to get over with the process as fast as possible seeing how exhausted we were after the long flight. It was quite a busy time, I suppose, because the lobby was filled with people and that made it look so vibrant. There were 5 lifts so one never had to wait longer than a minute.

Fast forward to the room on the 41st floor, gigantic and beautiful with huge windows and a balcony that overlooked the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai skyline on one side and the Arabian Gulf on the other. I think we were already in love with Chelsea Towers apart-hotel by that time. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, free Wi-fi and a kitchen with all necessary equipment were a few of the other amenities provided by the hotel.

We would go to the gym each morning and sometimes we’d also take a swim in the pool alternating with the Jacuzzi at times. The poolside staff and the spa masseuses were always extremely polite and helpful. Sometimes we took morning breakfast at the Chelsea Garden Restaurant & Café (they served amazing coffee by the way) and sometimes we went outside to the many popular eateries just around the corner such as Tim Hortons and Starbucks. There were other bistros and joints like Nando’s, Chilis, Burger King, KFC and Pizza Hut also very close to the hotel.

Talking about travelling around, we never had to worry because the Financial Centre Metro Station 1 was right across the road and incase of short distances, taxis were a life saver and always readily available. My friends and I were stoked about the fact that the hotel was just 10 minutes from the Dubai Mall and so we visited the mall every other day of our trip.

The Chelsea tower hotel which was in the centre of the city and right on Sheikh Zayed Road made Dubai’s major shopping destinations, tourist destinations, beaches, leisure parks and theme parks easily accessible. This was one of the main advantages for us, being tourists.

Positano Hotels vs Villas

Most villas will give you a little more space than a hotel room. You’ll usually get several rooms (living/dining, several bedrooms) plus a kitchen. So with the kitchen you have more freedom to make your own meals – you don’t have to always go out to a restaurant to eat.

Contrast that with a hotel room, which is usually much smaller (especially in Europe). Plus you don’t get your own kitchen space. Although keep in mind that, on the other hand, most Positano hotels do have balcony rooms with some of the most stunning views you’ll ever see of the Amalfi Coast!

Most hotels in Positano do include a free breakfast buffet with your room reservation. So in that sense it does save you a bit of money on food.

And depending on where you stay, there are some incredible breakfasts to be had. There’s nothing like sitting out on the terrace brunching on fresh fruit, prosciutto, eggs and a cappucino in the Italian sun to start your morning off right.

Most villas do not offer the free breakfast option with your booking.

If you stay at a hotel in Positano, you’ll get housekeeping every day – with fresh towels and clean floors, bathrooms, etc. But with some villas, you only get housekeeping once or twice a week (some villas will offer daily service for an extra charge).

Also note that with hotels, there is usually someone available 24 hours a day should you have a question or should you need something. Not all villas (depending on how they are run) offer this.

So those are some of the main differences between staying at a Positano hotel and a villa. It really depends on what you’re looking for.

Villas or apartments give you more flexibility with meals and generally more room. And, depending on the size of your party, they can be most cost effective.

Hotels however also have advantages like better housekeeping options, staff available 24-7 and free breakfast every morning.

Selecting the Best Hotel at a Tourist Place

  • The first work you will do is to filter and sort hotels on the basis of facilities they provide and the budget you can afford. First of all, put in the name of the city and the date on which you need to book a hotel.
  • After filtering date and locations wise, now you can sort resorts amenity wise. There are hotels which offer free Wi-Fi services, parking and swimming facilities to guests. I for myself will always select a hotel offering these amenities.
  • If you are travelling along with your family then you can look for a family hotel in the city and travel with a Girlfriend or wife, then you can look for a “romantic” type of hotel.
  • A good hotel is one that is located close to the airport and has decent road and rail links. Although these resorts mention these details in their description, it is not possible for a traveller to read the description of each hotel.
  • There are some hotels booking sites that show hotels on a single map. You can use their map to find a hotel that meets your travel requirements.
  • Some people intentionally look for a hotel that offers its guests free breakfast while as others don’t consider free breakfast as that much important. Similarly, some homestay have free Wi-Fi service for guests. If you really need internet then only makes it a deciding factor.
  • These days every hotel has its own website where they make announcements and update their guests about any new development. People post their reviews directly on their website. Read those reviews and what people think about the hotel.
  • Price is the deciding factor when it comes to making a hotel booking for an average person. An average income person may not be able to afford a costly hotel. Booking engines sort hotels price wise. Some resorts offer discounts to their guests. So check out that which hotel in the city is offering discounts on bookings.

Enjoy In A Luxury Holiday Resort Room

  • A micro spa – Relaxing baths are a must whether you choose an adventurous type of holiday or a relaxed one where you just want to unwind. A good resort villa should at least have Jacuzzi tubs complete with exfoliating and soaking salts as well as other spa basics at your disposal. There is nothing better than taking a relaxing bath after a day full of activities.
  • A stocked mini bar – Yes, refreshments should be handy when you need them and a mini bar that is well-stocked is therefore an important element. Some of the better resorts will make the minibar available at no extra charge, but you might need to pay in some resorts to get the bar stocked with your favorite drinks but it should at least have water at no charge.
  • Power outlets near your bed – If you live in the modern world, then you definitely will want to have your smartphone with you even when you are relaxing in bed. A power outlet near the bed offer great convenience; you do not need to charge the phone from the bathroom or start moving furniture and unplugging other items just to you can avail an outlet.
  • Lots of towels and robes – Enough towels should be provided for in your luxury resort villa or room so you do not end up having to use a wet towel that didn’t dry by the next use. A robe or two is also very helpful and it should at least be plush and comfortable to keep you warm after your bath. Resorts that offer enough towels and robes are definitely worthwhile.
  • Room service – A good luxury resort that cares about its customers should make room service available round the clock so you can enjoy your meals at whatever time without having to go down to the dining area or make trips to the restaurant. You are the king of the holiday and as so you should be treated with exceptional reliable room service.
  • Storage – Your room should have enough space to accommodate cumbersome bags you might have brought for your stay. You should actually be able to remove your clothes and items from your bags and hang them or put them in their proper places for convenience and to have a more organized looking room. You villa should at least have a sizable closet complete with hangers, shelves and drawers.

History of Hotels in Edmonton

Formative Years

Most people were settling around Edmonton to get a better life. There was the gold rush, which brought even more people and they needed accommodation urgently. Investors built wood framed facilities to meet the demand.

With more wealth flowing in, brick and stone motels emerged. Among the earliest was House Hotel built in 1876 from a log home. Jasper House Hotel came up in 1882, while Strathcona on Whyte Avenue was built in 1891.

Real Estate Boom of 1907-14

There was more land available for development and during this period, more establishments were built to cater for increasing numbers of visitors and new settlers. Hotel McDonald was opened in 1915 and indeed many other historic facilities emerged after this period.

With Edmonton becoming a major economic center in Alberta and with oil being discovered in the 1940s, there was need for better facilities. Different investors were trooping to the city and they needed specialized accommodation. This led to development of budget facilities which catered for most people. High-end facilities were also being developed to cater for influential visitors in the city. This period saw the development of most luxurious suites because of high end clients.

Of course there is so much more to see and do in the city. One thing is for sure though, there is never a dull moment in the city. Find out what the city has to offer through their hotels and enjoy the best of Edmonton

How to Pay Less for Luxury Lodging

Lodging is less clear. In most of the world, prices are a so-called “rack rate” or by the rooms based on double accommodations. As the number of solo travelers has increased, travel providers have added some better pricing options. While we all work to build a more level playing field, here are our 5 updated tips for luxury lodging at better prices.

  • Modify your searches for booking engines. Manually convert “one room” to “one adult”. In Europe, the good news is that such solo prices for lodging are common. Once you change from 2 to 1 adult, prices may drop 40%.
  • For short trips, vacation mid-week. When everyone else is back-to-school or back to work, you can take advantage of reduced traffic discounts.
  • Consider ways to save on meals. I found a great room rate at a 5-star Nordic hotel. However, I skipped the $110 dollar dinner on-site for a trip to a local deli for about $10.
  • Check out pre-season deals. These are most common at ski resorts. The fabled Lodge at Sun Valley (subject of a classic film) has had really reduced rates just prior to the Dec. 22 holiday influx.
  • Don’t bypass the famous names assuming they are too costly. One great such option is the 5-star Grand Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. They now offer a solo priced room. (Always check the size to see if it is a standard/double room or a smaller single room.)

Amenities of Island Hotels

Before you book your stay at any of the island hotels, you need to do your homework. You should know exactly what the accommodations are and what amenities are included. If it is a resort, you will want to know what type of food is offered and what activities are available for you to enjoy. If you are traveling with small children, you should determine if they have cribs or playpens available and reserve one in advance if you know that you will be needing it.

Talk to the Staff

It is easy to book everything online these days. However, by doing so, you lose contact with the people that work and live in the area. Even if you’ve settled on a particular inn, you should call the front desk and ask questions. Have one of them tell you about restaurants in the area and about the shopping. Ask in advance about activities that are going on or if there are any festivals available for you to visit.

Find a Few Points of Interest

After talking to the staff and doing your own research, write down a few points of interest in the area. Make sure you list several destinations from which to choose. While you don’t necessarily have to hit everything on your list, it will give you the chance to choose from the ones that sound the most interesting. Don’t forget to add important information like hours of operation, cost, and addresses of these activities.

Be Flexible

While you may have a long list of things you and your family might enjoy, you need to be flexible. You want to rest during your time away, not get more worn out by trying to visit a dozen places each day. Sometimes, the best thing to do is to sit out in the sun and sand, and enjoy the beautiful water for a day.
